Amy Ruman finishes 4th in Canada in her re-built TA Corvette

Amy Ruman was back in her red # 23 Corvette after major damage from a hard hit in practice at Watkins Glen in July. The long respite gave the Ruman Racing Team time to fix it in time for Canada.

Ruman has scored in every race so far including fourth place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville Ontario after Chris Dyson was penalized for jumping a start.

Crossing the border is not fun. You can only imagine the ordeal these days that led to a sparse field. The irony is that CTMP (a/k/a Mosport) is one of the more exhilarating race tracks in North America.  Go there (and drive the sweeping blind turns) and you are hooked.  Corvette legend and Canadian Ron Fellows happens to be a part-owner of the facility.

Top contenders for the TA title were not deterred with Paul Menard # 3 Mustang scoring his third win of the season. Unfortunately, that was not the case for the TA2 class which shrunk to less than half the normal size. The officials instead staged a single race with theTA2, TA & XGT cars.

# 82 Corvette James Beaton from Manotick, Ontario cooked his tires, brushed the wall and claimed victory nonetheless as the sole entrant in the XGT class.

Occasional racers, God bless them, with dated cars like Beaton’s C6 GT1, still show up, in this case a grandfather whose wife allows him to pursue his passion going on 38 years.
