IMSA at Laguna Seca

  • Laguna Seca Weathertech Raceway 1021 Monterey Salinas Hwy, Salinas, CA 93908 (map)

Pratt & Miller 3rd place is best among other Corvettes in IMSA GTD PRO and GTD at Laguna Seca

Antonio Garcia & Alexander Sims in the # 3 Z06 GT3.R Corvette of the Pratt & Miller team finished third in GTD Pro at Laguna Seca.

They trailed the winners Laurin Heinrich & Klaus Bachler in the # 77 Porsche 911 GT3 (a/k/a T-Rexy re-clad in pink) of the AO Racing Team.

Tommy Milner & Nicky Catsburg in the # 4 Pratt & Miller Z06 GT3.R Corvette were in the hunt but a late stop to top up dropped them to 6th, a glitch due to absence of caution periods that would have extended their window to fuel.

Per Milner, “Our Corvettes were “third place” cars all weekend in terms of pure speed and yet that can be enough to win a race that lasts for 2 hours & 40 minutes.

Alec Udell, who qualified the # 36 DXDT Z06 GT3.R 2nd in GTD incurred a pit lane drive-through penalty for a freak collision that happened when handing over to Robert Wickens.

That costly incident dropped them to 10th, one lap down at the finish.

Orey Fidani in the # 13 DXDT Z06 GT3.R AWA Corvette had trouble coming to grips (literally) at Laguna Seca.  That burden was too much to overcome for co-driver Matt Bell, resulting in 13th out of 15 GTD cars.
