Steller Racing Team Corvette struggles in SRO WC Europe at Brands Hatch

The # 24 Z06 GT3.R piloted by Matisse Lismont and Jesse Salmenautio finished eighth out of eleven cars for silver class drivers in 90-minute sprint races on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 & 4.

It was a letdown for team manager Max Daymond, particularly in the UK where Steller Motorsport is based.

The # 52 Ferrari 296 GT3 piloted by Marcos Siebert and Jef Machiels for Team AF Corse became the race 1 silver class winner on Saturday after the # 97 Porsche 911 GT3.R (992) of Team Rutronik was penalized for a pit stop infraction in the 30-lap race.

The Steller team also finished eighth out of eleven cars in race 2 on Sunday.

The # 10 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO piloted by Aurelien Panis and Cesar Gazeau for Team Boutsen VDS led flag-to-flag for 37 laps to win the race 2 silver class.

Crowds flocked to Brands Hatch to root for their favorite race cars, evenly-matched within 1 second per lap, top to bottom.

Again, as for racing abroad, GM chose a single customer team, Steller Motorsport, to race the Z06 GT3.R Corvette in a 30-car field consisting of 3 AMG (GER), 5 Ferrari (ITA), 4 Lambo (ITA), 2 Aston (UK), 4 Audi (GER), 4 BMW (GER), 4 McLaren (UK), 2 Porsche (GER), 1 Mustang (USA).

Zandvoort in the Netherlands is round 3 of 10 rounds in the SRO WC Series with sprint on Saturday/Sundy May 17/18.
