SRO World Challenge at CoTA

DXDT Team wins SRO World Challenge America race at CoTA in Austin TX

Matt Bell and Blake McDonald won the ProAm class in the # 11 Z06 GT3.R Corvette, completing 42 laps in a 90-minute race over the 3.41-mile F1 circuit on Saturday April 26.

McDonald gained from the start when three cars in front of him collided in turn 1 at the crest of the hill.  On the re-start, Philip Ellis took a comfortable lead in the # 91 Mercedes AMG GT3 of the Regulator Racing team but was penalized10 seconds by race officials for a pit road exit violation.

Bell inherited an effective 11-second lead from McDonald and set the fastest lap on the way to victory.  (Note that Matt Bell was also behind the wheel of the # 13 AWA Z06 GT3.R Corvette that won the GTD class at the IMSA 24-hour race at Daytona).

Bell & McDonald finished third in ProAm behind Ellis who ran a clean race on Sunday.

Ross Chouest and Aaron Povoledo in their # 50 Z06 GT3.R Corvette finished eighth in Pro Am on Saturday and DNF on Sunday.

Chouest, in the first of two 40-minute SRO GT America races, charged thru the field from 8th to finish 4th in the SRO 3 class on Saturday.

Kyle Washington in the # 32 GMG team Porsche 992 GT3 R was the winner.

Chouest climbed to his first SRO 3 podium on Sunday in the 40-minute race won by # 29 Justin Rothberg BMW Turner Motorsport in BMW M4 GT3EVO
