Johor Corvettes fall short on the streets of Bejing

Prince Jefri Ibrahim and Ben Green in the # 99 Z06 GT3.R Johor Corvette finished 6th on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday in one-hour races on the 3.04-mile circuit in the Economic-Technological Development area of Bejing known as E-Town.

A penalty for leaving the pits too early cost them dearly on Saturday.

Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim & Alexander Sims, (call him a “ringer”) subbing for Jordan Love finished 2nd on Sat & 5th on Sunday.

Bob Yuan and Leo Ye of Team Origine # 87 Porsche 911 GT3.R prevailed in a tie in points with Origine team-mate # 4 Lu Wei to become the first repeat GT World Challenge Asia champ. 

Prince Jefri and Ben Green in the # 99 Z06 GT3.R ended up third in the final standings.

The inaugural event, which also featured the GT4-based SRO GT Cup, drew 30,000 people, a record for a GT World Challenge Asia event.

A crash on Saturday (nobody hurt) between the # 37 Porsche 911 GR3.R of Anthony Liu and the # 96 Ferrari 296 GT3 of Yi Deng added to the excitement.
