Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yuloc and Peter Dempsey of the # 34 TF Sport Corvette along with the # 33 crew got their first taste of competition on April 9 after the World Endurance Championship season opener in Qatar, scheduled for Feb 27 was disrupted by hostilities in the Persian Gulf and postponed until October.
The full potential of the # 33 Corvette was belied by starting 14th in the GT3LM class; however, that potential came to fruition during the 6 hours that lay ahead.
The team caught a break with the late retirement of the Garage 59 team # 10 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo that started from pole.
Yet to realize its potential, the # 34 Corvette started from 10th and reached the lead pack before dropping out in the fifth hour because of an electrical problem.
Dan Harper, Anthony McIntosh and Parker Thompson in the WRT Team # 69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO won the GT3LM class in a close battle with the # 33 Corvette. WRT plans a different look for the car, seen here in Tic Tac trim, in WEC races to come.
