TF Sport Corvette crashed out in ELMS opener at Barcelona

The TF Sport team had a rough start in the opening round of the European Le Mans Series at the 2.89-mile circuit de Catalunya located 15 miles northeast of Barcelona.

The # 33 Z06 GT3.R Corvette, re-numbered from # 82, is defending the title it won last year at the finale in the 6-race series in Portugal.

The crash with Max Jansen in the # 86 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo happened on the 77th lap of the 4-hour race.

Both cars were not classified in the results.

Charlie Eastwood (right) leads a new driver lineup this year along side Alec Udell and Blake McDonald.  Both are seasoned drivers who race the Corvette with other teams.

The LMGT3 class was won by Tom Sargent, Richard Lietz and Matt Kuzerjeweski in the # 75 Team Proton Porsche 911 GT3 R completing 124 laps.

TF Sport is still in the hunt with 5 more races to go.
