SRO World Challenge at Road America

  • Road America N7390 State Highway 67, Plymouth, WI ‎53073 (map)

Tommy Milner takes the # 63 Z06 GT3.R Corvette to its third consecutive win in the SRO World Challenge Series

Corvette stalwart Tommy Milner and pro-driver Alec Udell piloting the DXDT team # 63 at Road America qualified first and won hard-fought 90-minute sprint races both Saturday and Sunday in the Pro class on August 17-18.

Several cars swapped the lead after which Milner said “that careful tire management on re-starts made the difference”.

Bryan Sellers and Bryson Morris piloting the DXDT # 08 won the Pro-Am class and finished second overall on Sunday after the car was retired early on Saturday following an accident.

Morris caught some breaks and was able to advance near the end.

We hope the streak continues thru the next event September 6/7 at Barber Motorsports Park outside of Birmingham, AL

The SRO World Challenge Series is hotly contested and car set-up is just as rigorous but sprint races are much easier on the budget than doing IMSA or the WEC FIA Le Mans.

Witness the rise of Bryson Morris, a 19-year-old who has raced in Europe, standing in for Scott Smithson at Road America.

SRO brings a group of series such as GT America in which Mirco Schultis, # 70 C7 GT.3 (Callaway) finished 4th (in dreadful conditions) and 5th respectively on Saturday and Sunday.

SRO stands for the Stephan Ratel Organization, growing since 1992 into the global leader in GT racing with offices in London, Paris, the USA and Hong Kong.

With 10 chassis produced of a required 25, Pratt & Miller is looking at SRO Asia, Europe and special 24-hour races like SPA in Belgium as venues for more customers to race the Z06 GT3.R; perhaps by recruiting some teams to switch from Porsche, AMG, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lambo and the like.

Now that would be something special!
