Trans Am at Mid-Ohio

  • Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course 7721 Steam Corners Rd, Lexington, OH 44904 (map)

Richard Forsythe wins a close one vs Kaylee Bryson at Mid-Ohio

According to Forsythe, patience on a wet track was the key factor in their Trans-Am SGT C6 Z06 Corvettes.

Heavy rain was on the way but not exactly when.  Amy Ruman, starting 4th spun into a gravel trap on lap 5, bringing out a full course caution that allowed the field to swap their slicks for treads.

Winning came down to keeping pace (assiduity) while exercising caution (equanimity).

Forsythe and Bryson, separated a generation by age, each had dirt-track experience which came in handy.

So did team support from GSpeed and Sam Pierce Chevrolet.

Forsythe notched his 3rd win to lead the SGT class in points.

Former NASCAR driver Paul Menard repeated his overall TA class win completing 36 laps, 3 more than the SGT class.

Road America caps off 4 consecutive weekends until Watkins Glen in late August.
