Amy Ruman comes back in the Trans Am at Indy after missing the first five races

Amy Ruman finished seventh (7th) in the TA class, one lap off the pace in her first start in the sixth (6th) of twelve (12) races for 2026.

Ruman, age 52, who hails from a racing family, began at 18 and is not about to quit, even after missing almost half the season.

Amy suffered a spiral compound fracture of her tibia and fibula from an errant fall down a staircase.  It took two (2) surgeries and many months to recover.

Friends like ex-Indy driver Lyn St James uplifted her spirits.

Amy is an inspiration to Corvette fans in an older but well-maintained C7-bodied Corvette against drivers with deeper pockets in newer Mustangs and Camaros.

Bill Goforth in his # 97 C5 GT1, built in 2002 by Jim Derhaag finished 2nd in the GT1 class, 11 laps off the overall pace in the one-hour race.

Ruman is set for Road America just one week later.
