Johor Motorsport Racing (JMR) Corvettes conclude a good outing at Fuji

Prince Jefri Ibrahim and Ben Green piloted the JMR # 99 Z06 GT3.R Corvette to victory, completing 30 laps in a chaotic 90-minute race on Sunday, July 13 at the 2.83-mile Fuji circuit in Japan.

Starting from pole, they had the race under control through the pit stop and driver change until a late Safety Car period wiped out a 19-second advantage, incurring a setback from which they recovered in a last-lap shootout.

On Saturday, the duo finished 6th in the ProAm class, held back by “success penalties”, used by the SRO Asia Series to ensure Balance of Performance.

Prince Abu Bakar Ibraham and Jordan Love piloted the JMR # 66 Z06 GT3.R Corvette to 3rd place on that Saturday.

On Sunday, the duo finished 11th in ProAm, colliding with the # 89 Team KRC BMW M4 GT3 EVO in another battle for third place on that frantic last lap in sight of the finish.

Bob Yuan and Leo Ye of the Team Origine # 87 Porsche 911 GT3.R (992) completed 32 laps to win the race on Saturday and carry the ProAm class points lead into the next race at Okayama on Aug 29.

Host country culture is a hallmark on the SRO WC Asia tour.
