Maiden win for Kaylee Bryson at NOLA
Kaylee Bryson scored her first Trans Am (SGT class) win in her fourth career start that took place at NOLA Motorsports Park, a 2.75-mile track and multi-purpose facility in Avondale, LA just north of New Orleans.
As reported earlier, Kaylee, a recipient of the PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship award, has raced a Sprint Car in the USAC Silver Crown series.
She stepped into the # 02 C6 Z06 Corvette owned by Larry Bailey, CEO of Logical Systems Inc, a company that integrates systems for companies across a variety of industries.
The car is run under the auspices of Aaron Pierce of Sam Pierce Chevrolet of Fishers Indiana, just northeast of the Indianapolis Speedway.
A rather small field of 12 cars divvied up in 4 classes belied a fierce battle up front between TA over-all winner # 16 Chris Dyson and # 12 Paul Menard, both in Mustangs.
The weekend was a nightmare for the Ruman Racing team. Stormy weather, missed plane connections, late arrival led to rushed prep and clutch failure after just 2 laps. Amy was scored 5th in TA class with better results in store at Lime Rock Park over the May 31-June 3 Memorial Day weekend.
Don McMillon a “sometimes” Trans Am racer from Texarkana finished 4th in SGT class, 9 laps down.
By contrast, Rich Forsythe, (shown above on his way to SGT class win at Road Atlanta) has his sights on the full season. He never made it to the start. We hope to learn more about from folks at GSpeed in Cresson TX who prepares the car.
