Trans Am at Road Atlanta

Richard Forsythe # 58 C6 Corvette wins SGT class in Trans Am at Road Atlanta

Better tire grip, prep & crew enabled Richard Fortsythe to pass Joshua Carlson’s Mustang on lap 29 of the 40-lap race to notch up his first win the SGT class.

The car was built by G Speed, a company from Cresson TX that offers customers C6 Corvettes in various levels to compete in street, track day and full race.

The operation is run by Louis Gigliotti, son of Corvette racer and prolific race car builder Lou Gigliotti, recently retired. “The apple does not fall far from the tree” as they say.

USAC Silver Crown racer Kaylee Bryson’s lap times are improving in her second race.

Her backers Aaron Pierce from Sam Pierce Chevrolet and LSI Logistics are counting on her to move up the leader board from 4th in class at Road Atlanta.

Amy Ruman finished 5th, benefitting from mistakes and misfortune, first by rival Tomy Drissi who got spun out by Boris Said in his Dodge Charger and then by Said himself who dropped back to 4th with carburetor failure on the final lap.

Another consistent result has elevated her to 2nd in TA points standings after the first 2 races.

There was no shortage of fans at Road Atlanta.  The Trans Am series next travels to the NOLA circuit, just north of New Orleans on April 12-14.
