A lone Corvette is off the pace at VIR
Matthew Butson # 24 TA Corvette traveled all the way across country only to finish 2 laps down at VIR (pictured above earlier this year at Road America).
Chris Dyson # 20 Mustang clinched the TA championship by storming to his third straight win over nemesis Tomy Drissi # 8 Camaro and seven-time champ Ernie Francis Jr # 98 Mustang.
With a 3rd place podium out of reach and just one more race ahead on Nov 6-7 at CoTA, Amy Ruman’s team chose to park it at home.
While Justin Oakes, having clinched the TA SGT title, was off at Indy to race his Spec Miata in a huge 92-car field at the SCCA Runoffs starting Sept 25.
Rafa Matas # 88 Mustang battled a bigger field to clinch the TA2 class in a spec chassis that costs less and is nearly as fast, charting the direction of the Trans Am series.
