With just the # 79 Weather-Tech Porsche and the 2 C8.R Corvettes entered, a GTLM podium finish was assured for all.

IMSA compressed the schedule and stayed in place at the Glen because travel to Canada remained closed, wiping out the hoped-for July 3-4 race at Mosport (CTMP). The start was moved up to 6:05 PM Friday.  Practice began just a few days after the 6-hour endurance race ended

Qualifying took place following rain on Thursday.

Lightning in the area delayed the start that shortened the timed race by 50 minutes.

A first win for the # 4 team might have turned heads but luck ran out once again.

It was all over with plenty of time to make it home.
