Unable to match the pace of the Porsches, the 2 Corvettes were part of a thrilling battle for 3rd on the podium (and 4th) ahead of Ford and BMW.
Qualifying a remarkable 2nd, # 3 Jan Magnussen quickly lost the spot to the # 912 Porsche RSR of Earl Bamber with an aggressive outside pass in turn 1.
The entire GTLM field pitted when an early caution flag came out just 20 minutes into the race.
Each Corvette made 2 more stops with Oliver Gavin moving up from 5th thanks to quick work by his pit crew.
After the final round of pit stops, Antonio Garcia made a daring move followed by Tommy Milner to overtake the Ford GTs that set the results at the finish.
