Simon Gregg 4th in diverse TA lineup at Sebring

# 59 Simon Gregg was the top Corvette finishing ahead of 3 other drivers piloting the C7/GT-1.   By contrast there were 11 C7/GT-1 Corvettes entered last year in 2017.

Camaro, Mustang and Caddy bodies are said to be more aerodynamic.  Drivers of C7 bodied Corvettes who switched include Claudio Burtin (Camaro), David Pintaric (Caddy) and Paul Fix (Mustang).  Add those absent this year including Henry Gilbert, Mickey Wright, Tomy Drissi, Vinnie Allegretta and Chas Wicht.

Bumped at the start ruptured the left rear tyre of # 23 Amy Ruman.  The time it took to replace bodywork torn up on the way back to the pits cost her dearly dropping her to 25th in the combined TA/TA3/TA4 race.  

# 30 Richard Grant moved up to 8th from qualifying 15th.

# 99 Larry Lapurage was off the pace and finished 24th.

Once again it looks like the man to beat is last year’s champ, phenom # 98 Ernie Francis Jr who won in his Mustang.

# 20 veteran racer Chris Dyson, a new entry, could be his biggest threat finishing 2nd in his brand-new Mustang.

# 53 Larry Hoopaugh is also new to the field in a C6 furnished by Tony Ave Racing.
