“Damage Control” at Zandvoort
The # 77 Roller/Valvoline C7 GT3 Corvette of Daniel Keilwitz & Jules Gounon finished 5 th in the Sunday race, one place behind # 29 Audi R8 LMS of Connor De Phillippe and Christopher Mies.
The Callaway team # 77 Corvette trails the Montaplast by Land team # 29 Audi by just 2 points (144 to 146). Keilwitz summed up the weekend as “damage control” heading into the 2016 championship finale at Hockenheim on Oct 2.
Keilwitz notched his 100th start in the ADAC-GT Masters Series becoming only the third driver to do so vs Sebastian Asch 119 and Toni Seiler 113. Daniel’s 17 racing victories top them all.
Beautiful skies interrupted by sudden downpours made for a guessing game. # 17 race leader Kevin Estre Porsche 911 GT3 R got a little too aggressive on dry tyres sending him off course and out of title contention.
Patrick Assenheimer & Dominik Schwager in the # 69 Auto Arena managed to finish 12 th.
Eric Curran and Loris Hezemans in the # 31 Whelen managed to finish 16 th.
Remo Lips and Sven Barth in the # 13 C6 ZO6 were 22 nd after an amazing 13 th on Saturday.
Race Results compiled by Wayne Ellwood.
Callaway team and fans are pumped to win the finale at Hockenheim on Oct 2.
