ADAC-GT Masters Red Bull Ring (Austria)

Oliver Gavin & Daniel Kielwitz win both rounds in Callaway ZO6R GT3 Corvette

(Summarized from report provided by the Callaway Corvette racing team)

GT Masters 2013 champion Daniel Keilwitz and Corvette factory driver Oliver Gavin captured pole for both races.

In Saturday’s Race 1 a late pit stop by the team turned into a smart move. “Unlike the pursuing group, we came into the pits quite late and had a clear track ahead of us after the driver changeover,” said Keilwitz. Gavin added “we knew this circuit is suited the Corvette and I’m pleased that Daniel and I have achieved such a good result for Callaway.” In Sunday’s Race 2 ADAC ordered an extra 30 kilos weight (nearly 14 lb) but the team benefited from penalties handed out to competitor Thomas Enge driving a Camaro and Callaway teammate Jeroen Bleekemolen for jumping the start. As the pit stop window was opening, a spin by Sven Barth in his RWT Racing Team Corvette brought out the safety car. With a controlling second stint by Gavin, the team notched up their 18th ADAC GT victory and another back to back win.  Toni Seiler in a Callaway Corvette took a closely contested victory in Race 1 Gentleman’s class.
